Robert J Stenger – Chairman

Bob graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Business Management. He started with Cincinnati Mine in 1973 working on the shop floor and is currently CEO and Chairman. Bob is also Chairman of Cincinnati Mine Australia. He serves on the Board of the National Mining Association (20 yrs ) and is a Board Member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Cincinnati as well as a member of WPO.


Theo van Niekerk

Theo attended Colliery Training College from 1976 to 1980 where he qualified as a Fitter and Turner. Whilst at the Training College he worked underground at Anglo Mines. In 1981 he joined Licence Mining (Pty) Ltd  building underground Mining Equipment. As Workshop Manager he also became familiar with Cincinnati Equipment and later moved onto the sales side.


Allan Hodgson

Allan obtained a B. Economics degree from Durban University. As a shareholder of the original Licence Mining he spent many years working in the Coal Mining Industry.


Vusi Mahlangu

Vusi obtained a BSc Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Cape Town and his MBA from Harvard Business School.  Vusi and Sydney, together with Rand Merchant Bank, launched the first specialised mezzanine fund in South Africa.  Makalani invested over R2.5 billion in BEE transactions and infrastructure projects. Vusi was from 2005 to 2008 the Chief Executive Officer of Makalani. Prior to Makalani Vusi spent about 7 years in the structured finance division of Investec. Vusi has experience in structuring, arranging and financing long term structured debt and cross border leasing transactions. In 2001, he started the Public Sector Finance Division at Investec which financed State Owned Companies and Municipalities. Vusi worked for African Oxygen Limited for 4 years first as a process engineer and later as a production manager before joining Investec.


Jimmy Martin

Jimmy obtained a BSc Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of the Witwatersrand and later an MBA at the University of Cape Town. He was also a shareholder in Licence Mining.


Sydney Mhlarhi

Sydney obtained his B Com and B Acc from the University of the Witwatersrand.  Sydney and Vusi, together with Rand Merchant Bank, launched the first specialised mezzanine fund in South Africa. Makalani invested over R2.5 billion in BEE transactions and infrastructure projects. Sydney was from 2005 to 2008 the Chief Investment Officer of Makalani.  Prior to Makalani Sydney spent about 7 years in the corporate finance and acquisition finance divisions of Standard Bank. He was a director and joint head of the Acquisition Finance Division at Standard Bank and has extensive investment banking experience in particular corporate finance. Sydney's experience includes, inter alia, mergers & acquisitions, listings, initial public offerings, valuations, restructurings, privatisations, capital raising and black economic empowerment transactions. Sydney completed accounting articles at Ernst & Young in 1997.
